In February half term, we trialled a new event. Initially, we just planned to open our School Uniform Bank the weekend before children went back to school. The idea grew! Instead we bought local organisations together for a 'one stop shop' on a Saturday. So people could drop in to ask questions and find support. And enjoy a free kids pack up lunch and kids activity. We had lovely feedback from visitors:"Lots of community resources in one place.""Everyone is friendly and helpful, welcoming to myself and my little one."Thank you Jackson Hope, DN6 Foodbank, Benefit Buddies, Doncaster Development Den, Askern Town Council, St Peter's School Uniform Bank and others for supporting us!
1 guitar, several soundtracks, 2 venues, 35 voices and many mince pies...Much joy was had as we sang outside Eastleigh Hall and then popped into Askern Vale Court for more carols.Who knew Whilst Shepherds Watched could be sung to the tune of Ilkley Moor Bar Tat?!Thank you to everyone who made the event possible and a delight! And to Shine Your Light for inspiring us to share the joy.See also post here on Facebook
