It is a great sadness that this will be the final act of public worship to be held at St. Luke's before the church closes. The church building and the adjoining bungalow are about sixty years old and in need of many repairs that will cost a great deal of money. The Church has for many years been used for Mass once a week usually attracting six to eight people. This being the case the Diocese, who own the property are not prepared to invest the six figure sum required to bring it up to a reasonable standard.

You are very welcome at all of our services and events either here at St. Luke's or at the parish church of St. Leonard and St. Jude, Barnsley Road, Scawsby. St. Luke's is what we call our daughter church, a place of mission and we hope a place to grow the Christian faith in Scawthorpe.
