Church of England Diocese of Sheffield Rossington

About Us

We are a welcoming group of Christians, all eager to serve our community and know God better.

Rossington is a large village to the south of Doncaster, in the rural Deanery of West Doncaster, made up of New Rossington and Old Rossington, with an overall predominantly white population of 13,255.  The Patron is the Bishop of Sheffield.  The Church was built in Norman times although major re-modelling took place in 1844, and it is thought that Rossington was a chapelry of Doncaster before gaining full parochial status in the 13th century. The Church may also have been served by the monks at Roche Abbey.

We are happy to announce that we are now open to take bookings for baptisms and weddings during 2021.  Due to the size of the church, there are restrictions currently in place, allowing for 28 guests in the church building (18 spaces, assuming some parties will be bubbled) and all in attendance must wear a face covering, unless under 11 years or age or if there are genuine medical reasons not to do so.  Due to social distancing restrictions, bookings will be made by appointment only.  If you wish to make an appointment, please contact Chrissie on 07583 301412.  Thank you :)
