Arbory Church of St Columba - part of the Parish of Arbory and Castletown - is one of the island's ancient churches. Although the present church dates from 1759, it was built alongside its 16th century predecessor and indeed uses part of the old North wall in its present South elevation.  Records show that a Keeill was on this site several centuries earlier.

Today, Arbory Church is at the heart of the community villages of Colby and Ballabeg.  Most families have a connection with the church through Christenings, Marriages or funerals or have visited at one of the many special services that occur throughout the year.  Arbory School participates in the life of the church with the children being particularly involved in our Trafalgar Day and Armistice Day services.

Perhaps the most famous grave is that of Captain John Quilliam who, as First Lieutenant, steered Nelson's Flagship HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar.

Today the church is a warm and friendly place where the congregation welcome everyone to our services and who make sure the church is always open daily for prayer or just to be still.

Our services are:

1st Sunday  8.30am  Holy Communion [Book of Common Prayer - said service]

10.30am - All Age Service

Other Sundays  -  9.30am -  Holy Communion [Common Worhsip] or Morning Prayer [Common Worship
