Soldiers and Aviator Scripture Reading Association (SADRA) can trace the origins of its ministry to the British Army back to 1818, today it provides an exceptional level of pastoral and spiritual support to members of the British Army and Royal Air Force & their families.
During his long military career with the Royal Logistic Corps, Martin specialised in engineering and bomb disposal, serving in Afghanistan,
Iraq, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Northern Ireland, He was awarded the Queens Gallantry Medal for his selfless acts of courage in bomb disposal duties in operational theatres.
After retiring from the British Army, he took up a position with the Ministry of Defence. He became a Christian in his early thirties and has served his local church on parochial church councils for decades.
He is a Licensed Reader, member of the preaching team and Treasurer for his local Anglican Church.
