Our church buildings and hall may be closed but the church is very much alive and serving our communities in different ways. We continue to live stream services from Rev Zoe Burton ( who will hopefully be joining us in June has our new Vicar) on our facebook page along side services from our ministry team.For the time being our church is closed for public Worship and private prayer without exception.WeddingsThere can be no weddings in church till further notice.BaptismThere can be no baptisms until further notice. Emergency baptisms can take place in hospital or at home, though subject to strict hygenic precautions and physical distancing as much is possible. FuneralsFunerals can only take place at the Crematorium or at the graveside. Only immediate family members can attend (if the crematorium allows ) Spouce or partner, parents and children , keeping their distance as the government advise.Check out the Church of England website for all the latest updates.
In the light of Government advise around non - essential contact, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued advise that public Worship is suspended until further notice. With continued updates regarding the coronavirus outbreak , we wanted to keep you updated with the action we are taking across the United Benefice of Blidworth and Rainworth churches to limit its affects. This is an ever changing situation and the leadership team are closely monitoring new guidance from the Church of England and Public Health England.Following this advice , at present, the decision has been taken that essential services will continue with the following adjustments:Holy Communion will be given in one kind only. The use of the common cup has been suspended. Physical contact should be avoided, which means we cannot shake hands during the sharing the Peace.To reduce the risk of infection we will not be serving refreshments after the service, so you may want to bring a bottle of water with you.Please take notice of government advice should you be suffering from a new continuous cough or temperature and self isolate to prevent passing infection to our most vulnerable people.Please use hand gels provided and wash hands regularly.We have also taken the decision to suspend the following sessions:At St AndrewsTalk and Tea Bingo ( Tuesdays) Sunday Lunches ( 1st sunday of the month) Monthly coffee morning ( last Saturday of the month)St Simon and St JudeFriday and Saturday coffee shop (weekly)
