Finding Wakefield Cathedral

By car: follow the signs to Wakefield city centre from junctions 39 or 41 of the M1. Pay and display car parks are to be found near the Cathedral (follow the signs when you reach the city centre). Please note that as we are in a pedestrianised zone, there is no public parking at the Cathedral itself.  However there are plenty of parking spaces nearby. More information about local parking can be found here.

By train: Wakefield has two railway stations, Westgate and Kirkgate. Westgate is served by excellent regional, trans-Pennine and intercity train services and is only two hours from London Kings Cross, 25 minutes from Sheffield or 15 minutes from Leeds. Kirkgate is served by local trains. It is only a few minutes walk to the Cathedral from either station or you can pick up a free bus service which links both stations and the Cathedral.

By bus: Wakefield bus station is on Union Street, less than two minutes walk from the Cathedral and is served by local, regional and national services.
