Vision Priorities 2018

Collaboration:

Ministry

1. To prioritise both lay and ordained ministry and vocation.

2. To nurture a personal approach in identifying people and ministries in the sharing of God’s mission and for continued spiritual growth of the parish.

3. To encourage each other to ‘have a go’ building on the foundations of collaborative ministry already in place.

4. To empower and identify key people, mentoring their talents and unique gifts, redirecting energies, and developing ministries.

5. To invest where needed to equip people to be confident in reaching out into the wider community.

6. To build on collaborative ministry that seeks to raise our Christian profile, ensuring that everyone in our community has a spiritual home and can find faith, hope and love.

Worship

1. To encourage people in a discipline of regular prayer providing resources that recognise the many ways we all pray.

2. To prioritise attendance at the daily offices as a regular structure of prayer, and support for people to immerse in and rely on.

3. To pray regularly as a PCC to discern God’s call on our lives and our part in the spiritual life of this parish.

4. To help newcomers in getting established in good, but achievable disciplines of prayer.

Community

1. To continue to raise the profile of our Christian presence within the community.

2. To seek out community partnerships and projects identifying how the church can meet their needs.

3. ‘Little Friends’ (mums and tots) is identified as priory group for the church. To identify and foster the gifts of its members, offer encouragement and resources in supporting the spiritual growth of the group.

4. To encourage the laity to build on the existing relationships and work within our Schools in supporting and leading collective worship and assemblies.

5. To continue to make positive connections with the wider community through the church coffee morning. To explore its future vision and outreach, identifying possible growth areas and resources available and needed.

Change / Renewal:

Re-ordering

1. To re-order All Saints’ church to create a flexible worship space and useable meeting area for both church and community outreach projects.

2. To nurture an environment of mutual trust and respect from the church community. We need to be clear what is involved at every stage.

3. To adopt good organisation, administration and communication in applying the gifts and talents on offer.

4. To work towards creating the kind of church that has a voice and place in the twenty first century, raising the visible profile of the church whilst meeting the needs and challenges in the community and building up the Body of Christ.

Liturgical Formation

1. To begin to make links between liturgical ideas and the drama of worship (theory and practice).

2. To explore our Christian identity through a period of change and experimentation in our worship.

3. To clear some space to create a liturgical platform.

4. To separate out distinct liturgical spaces in both churches.

5. To build on the worship sub group by adding new members, including some of our younger worshipers.

Parish Identity / Mission Plan:

Communication, who are we, what makes us unique

1. To draw people closer to God.

2. To work towards developing a defined parish identity and mission plan.

3. To market our churches as open, welcoming and inclusive places where we encourage all to come along and find their spiritual home.

4. To redesign our notice boards, adopt a parish logo, and parish strapline from 1 Corinthians 13 ‘Faith, Hope, Love’.

5. To help church members understand the churches vision and priorities, and make sure they are aware of news and forthcoming events.

6. To make sure church members can communicate with each other and provide feedback to the leadership.

7. To continue to communicate with the wider community about forthcoming events, worship services, and how the church can help in times of need.
