About Us

Holy Trinity & St Andrew is located in the small village of Ashe just west of Overton in Hampshire close to the headwaters of the River Test. The present church was rebuilt in 1878 on the site of an earlier medieval building by the Victorian architect George Gilbert Scott Jr. The church is modest and rural in character, typical of a 19th-century country parish church in brick and stone, standing slightly apart from the village near the spring of the River Test. The young Jane Austen, from nearby Steventon, had connections with Ashe through the Lefroy family, whose rectory and social circle were linked to the church; she is known to have visited here.
