Remembering, celebrating and saying goodbye

At St Luke’s Church, Maidenhead, we are here to welcome and support you when someone you love has died.

Losing someone we love can be one of the hardest experiences we face. A funeral gives us space to come together, remember a life, express our grief and say goodbye, surrounded by family, friends and the wider community.

At St Luke’s, we understand that every person and every family is different. Whether you have a strong Christian faith, are unsure what you believe, or have little connection with church, you are very welcome here.

A funeral service can be shaped around the person who has died — remembering their life, the things they loved, the people who mattered to them and the memories you hold dear. There is also space to bring our questions, sadness and hope before God.

Our clergy will take time to listen to you, explain what happens and help you plan a service that is personal and meaningful. We will walk alongside you through the arrangements and be here to support you before, during and after the funeral.

A funeral is not only about saying goodbye. It is also about giving thanks for a life lived, supporting one another in grief and finding a place for hope.
