About Us

A warm welcome awaits you at all our services and activities. Our modern facilities were built in 1984 to serve the people of Throop and the surrounding area.

St Paul's has an Evangelical tradition established in the late 19th Century when the original building was built near to the Central Railway Station in Bournemouth. However, in the 1980's, due to the re-shaping of the town centre, the old building was demolished, and a fairly unique situation arose when a new Parish was created and the Church moved to a new residential area on the northern edge of the town. St Paul's at Throop was created, and has continued to serve Jesus as Lord ever since.

We offer varied forms of worship to suit all tastes, and organisations are run for all ages. Everything is run by church members who long to introduce Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

We meet on Sundays at 10:00am for our morning service and again at 6:00pm for evening worship. Our intergenerational service is on the first Sunday of each month, where all ages worship together and we have a Holy Communion Service every 3rd Sunday at 10am. there are groups for children aged 3-14 each week (except on the first Sunday when the chiodren join us for the whole service). We also have a weekly Holy Communion Service at 9:30am every Thursday morning.

We have weekly groups for young people aged 11-18 on Thursday and Sunday evenings: please be in touch with the church office for more details.

St Paul's is here to serve our local community and runs a Community Cafe on Tuesdays (8:45am-12pm) Wednesdays (1pm-3:30pm) and Thursdays (8:45am-12pm).

We also have our own Community Choir: Sing for Joy, who meet weekly on Tuesday evenings in term time from 7:30pm: everyone is always welcome!

Little Lambs Toddler Group meets here every Wednesday in term time from 9:30-10:45am (under 3's) or 11:00am-12:15pm (under 5's).

We are also home to Barbara Rose Christian Preschool, and two local charities: PACE and Truth Be Told.

St Paul's also enjoys hosting many community groups including Girl-guiding, BBLOC, Bournemouth Recycle Food Distribution and Stour Power WI.
