St John the Baptist

St John the Baptist Church, Moordown is part of the Parish of Winton, Moordown and Charminster. The Parish consists of three churches, St John the Baptist (the Parish Church), St Luke's, Winton and St Alban's, Charminster. We are a welcoming, inclusive parish with a rich variety of worship and tradition in addition to lots of activities and groups gathering during the week.

We are members of Inclusive Church ( and serve Fairtrade tea and coffee. 

The parish of Winton, Moordown and Charminster is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of Winchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSO. Informal Communion

Every Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. for 30m

Wimborne Road / Vicarage Road

Join us for a short, informal communion service each Tuesday from 4th May at St John's, Moordown. We'll get together at about 8.45am (after the school run), ready to start at about 9am. When we're able to, there'll be tea, coffee and pastries before and after the service. Everyone welcome - both young and a little older!
