About Us

Ste Marguerite de la Foret is a beautiful small country Parish Church serving the parish of the Forest. It is an ancient church which has grown over the centuries with many interesting architectural features.  The earliest part of the church dates from the 13th century.  This is the south east corner and it incorporates some massive stones which were once part of a dolmen. The church has some old musical instruments on display in a cabinet on the wall to the right of the main door as one enters. These were used for worship until the church acquired an organ.  There are leaflets available for visitors' further information.

Although the congregation is not large, it reflects the size of the parish, which is also small even by Guernsey standards. Despite this we have an interesting programme of events, both social and spiritual, and a lovely community atmosphere. Events include three Let's Do events per annum for the children, (like Messy Church), an annual lunch, wine tasting by our very own wine expert, Flower and Christmas Tree festivals, to name a few.

Our main service is at 11:00 am each Sunday, and this is CW Eucharist. The first Sunday in the month is always Family Service. There is BCP Evensong at 6:30 pm twice a month and the 9:00 am BCP Holy Communion service is held once a month .
