About UsSt Leonard's Chapel
St. Leonard's is the private chapel of the Beauchamp Almshouses (now called the Beauchamp Community) and the Eucharist continues to be celebrated daily, on Sundays & Feasts in St Leonard's itself and weekdays in the medieval Cloister Chapel of All Souls. A warm welcome is extended to anyone who wishes to join us for worship on Sundays or weekedays.
This magnificent Grade I listed church was commissioned for Anglo-Catholic worship by the 3rd Earl Beauchamp and completed in 1864.
The Revd Canon Peter Nokes, Chaplain to the Beauchamp Community, is assisted by retired priests living in the Community, all of whom maintain our proud tradition of Anglo-Catholic worship.
Our website explores the history of the historic buildings which include St Leonard's, the almshouses, choir school, medieval chapel, cloisters, theological library and the Grand Hall. The lavish Clayton & Bell frescoes which adorn St Leonard's are considered to be one of their masterpieces.
Information regarding individual visits and group tours of the chapel and historic buildings may be found on our website or by contacting the Warden on 01684 562100.
