Looking ahead – the Church tomorrowWe all recognise the changing culture of our churches but what will the Church look like in this area in 5 – 10 years’ time?None of us know what talents will emerge over these years – we are constantly surprised by the activity of the Holy Spirit, and yet we do know things don’t stay the same, and that good foundations help anything new to flourish. Please come and join us on Saturday 5 April at 10:0am at Holland House to talk, to pray, to note the signs of where we see the Holy Spirit active today and to ask, “What is this telling us?”.The morning will conclude by 12.30pm. It would help Holland House to know how much cake to bake if you could let me know in advance if you are coming, but don’t worry if you don’t – still come!SarahEmail: revsarahdangerfield@outlook.com Five Alive APCM – Sunday 6 AprilThe Five Alive APCM will take place within the 11:00am service at Fladbury with official business of appointing officers after a break for coffee. This is a time to thank everyone who serves the Church in many and varied ways, including all who do so in appointed roles – those who are stepping down, those who are taking on a new role, and those who have offered to continue. The APCM is a time too to give thanks for all that went well last year, and to pray and look forward to the next. Eco churchThe Five Alive Parish has just registered its five churches to join the Eco church scheme and will soon be starting the process of working towards achieving an Eco church Award. We wish to care for God's creation through our worship, buildings, land, community engagement, and individual lifestyles and the Eco church scheme provides a framework to show our progress. For several of the actions encouraged, we are already doing them, such as having more environmentally friendly flower arrangements and using an electricity supplier with a renewable tariff. The Eco church scheme is also an opportunity to work with others who care passionately about the environment, many of whom are already way ahead of the local church on this issue, including our church schools.I am looking for a volunteer or two from each village, to join me in working on this project. It will involve going through the Eco church surveys, investigating what we already do, what we can easily do together as a community, and what we can work towards.
