Pentecost
Come down O love divine!
Seek thou this soul of mine
and visit it with thine own ardour glowing
Collect for Pentecost
God, who as at this time
taught the hearts of your faithful people
by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit:
grant us by the same Spirit
to have a right judgement in all things
and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort;
through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

We send congratulations and every blessing to Adam
and Catherine getting married in St Nicholas Church
next Saturday. We wish them all joy and happiness as
they begin their married life together in Peopleton.
Dear God,
bless Catherine and Adam as they embark
on this new chapter in their lives.
May their love grow stronger each day, and may they
find joy and fulfilment in their partnership. Amen.
Pentecost
You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has
come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses.
(Acts 1: 8)
Prayer for Pentecost
For the Spirit of Peace, that calms our mind
and stills our life, we give you thanks.
For the Spirit of Love, that touches hearts
and reaches out, we give you thanks.
For the Spirit of Joy, that lifts our soul
and gives us faith, we give you thanks.
For the Spirit of Power, that gift of grace
for this your church, we give you thanks. Amen.

The Big Breakfast
Th sun shone, both the food and company were
excellent and a good time was had by all at the Big
Breakfast on the Rectory lawn.
Thank you to the amazing team who pulled out
all the stops once again.
Well over 70 meals were prepared and £724 was
raised towards church funds.
A very big thank you to everyone who supported the
event and helped raise this amazing sum for St
Nicholas’ Church.
Please remember our church wardens and me as we
meet together in Zoom sessions to talk about the
future for our churches, their viability and
sustainability for the next decades. Please pray
for fruitful discussions.
Heavenly Father,
we pray that our churches will grow in
wisdom, knowledge, and love for You.
May we be filled with Your Spirit and
bear fruit that blesses others and honours You.
We commit the future of our Benefice
into Your hands,
in Jesus' name, Amen.
and finally……..
I am contemplating trying out Messy Church in
the Bowland Benefice.
Messy Church is a popular and growing Church of
England initiative and its values are about being
Christ-centred, for all ages based on creativity,
hospitality and celebration.
It is for young and old – for everyone - and designed
to speak to you wherever you are on your journey of
faith.
A fresh expression of coming together, to be, to make,
to eat and celebrate God,
Come and get messy and learn about Jeus and the
church……
Watch this space! Claire
