About Us

The first St John the Baptist Church was built in 1843-the 'Black Church' of which only the tower and spire survive unchanged today. The present church was built between 1892 and 1904 and was consecrated by Bishop Gore on the 13th February 1904.
In 1972 offices and vestries were constructed within the nave. The refectory and children's room were added then and the organ was moved to it's current position at the west end of the nave over the refectory.
It is part of the Kidderminster West team ministry and the congregation takes part in a number of team events. Regular services are held as well as various other team events either in this or one of the other churches in the team. There are close relationships with the local methodist church, Foley Park, which is situated just a short walk from Holy Innocents church.

The Eucharist is celebrated most Sundays at 10.30am other than when there are team services which are all at 10.00am

There is a said service on the 1st, 3rd & 5th Wednesdays and  Sung Evensong on the 1st & 3rd Sundays

Please note: TEAM SERVICES MAY NOT ALL BE SHOWN AT THIS PARTICULAR CHURCH. PLEASE CHECK THE OTHER CHURCHES IN OUR TEAM AT HOLY INNOCENTS & ST PETERS.
