BACKPACKERS is a seven-day children’s holiday club (an opening Sunday service, five weekday morning sessions and a closing Sunday service):

Sunday 28th July 10am Opening Service

Monday 29th July—Friday 2nd August 9.30-12.00 each day

Sunday 4th AugustThere are strictly limited numbers to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all the young people who attend, so please fully complete our registration form opposite (one per child and both sides please) then detach and send to St. Mary’s Church, Boston Spa and complete one for each child attending. Places will be filled really quickly so get your registration back as soon as possible but no later than 14th July please.

Young helpers: Young people who are currently in Year 6 or older are welcome to volunteer. Please complete the section on the registration form or contact us for more information. We may have more young people than places so please note that priority will be given to those who regularly attend our youth groups.

DONATIONS: This is a self-funding holiday club paid for by generous donations made by parents, parishioners, carers and families of the young people who attend. We do not get any additional funding from the Church of England, Government, Education Department or Council and ALL the ‘person power’ is given free of charge!

We are very grateful to receive a suggested £2.50 per child per morning donation towards the cost of Holiday Club. And please don’t forget to sign the Gift Aid section so that we can claim some money back from the tax man!

We must stress that those young people whose circumstances mean that they are unable to make a donation are still most welcome to attend the holiday club.

This year we are again supporting a special scheme - so if you are able to increase your donation above the requested £2.50 each day, then the additional donations will go to Away From It All Holidays (AFIA) - a Mother’s Union holiday scheme which provides holidays for those families who would be unable to afford them otherwise. On average, Mothers’ Union helps 2,500 people to have a holiday each year. Families are able to spend time together away from their stressful situations at home, engage in activities together and have fun.
