About Us

St Cuthbert church serves the village of Crayke.  We are part of a group of seven churches, known as the Byland benefice 

If we don't have a service at our church, you will find a good number of the congregation worshiping at one of the other churches in the group. The easiest way to find out what is happening across the benefice is via our website:

At St Cuthbert’s we are about God and people and we love being part of our village community, reaching out with the Good News of the Gospel.

We believe in a joyful and generous God and view our own giving as part of our discipleship and work within this community.

We are fortunate to be custodians of a beautiful and historic building; a place of peace and sanctuary, a space for prayer, a space to enable everyone to encounter God.

Our building is open daily and we aim to offer regular worship in a warm and welcoming environment, to provide funeral and wedding ministry and to support our community and charitable works.

Giving God, we receive so much from you and therefore have much to give. Help us to share in the blessings of giving as well as the happiness of receiving, that your love may be more widely shared through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
