We take very seriously our responsibility to safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults entrusted to the church's care.
We have a Safeguarding Representative for the Benefice of Rural East York, which includes St Nicholas, Dunnington and also Holy Trinity, Holtby; Holy Trinity, Stockton on the Forest; and St Mary's, Warthill churches.
All PCC members and others in positions of responsibility have been through the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) process and are familiar with our Child Safeguarding Policy and Adult Safeguarding Policy, which were last updated in November 2021. The policies are on display in each church within the Benefice.
Our current Safeguarding Representative is Mary Murray. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mary. Contact information is available at http://stnicholasdunnington.org.uk/about-us/leadership/.
