During October we shall be tidying our churchyard ahead of Christmas wreath laying. This means we will be removing plastic flowers, faded silk flowers and dead fresh flowers, alongside glass vases, lights, memorabilia e.g. , photos, windmills, ceramics etc. unless in the case of a headstone plinth, they are placed on the plinth. We shall be filling areas that have 'sunk' so you may see areas of fresh soil or new grass. We would appreciate it if you notice a sunken area that hasn't been dealt with, then please contact us. We apologise if this may seem harsh but we are following the orders and requirements of the Diocese of York in making it a place where all are in harmony salvaged items (not flowers in any form) will be placed in a container next to the bin so individuals can collect. If not collected by 1st November, they will be disposed of. We know there are areas that don't fulfil the requirements of the Diocese so we will try and sort these as soon as possible Anyone who wishes to discuss this can contact the Churchwarden on 07793 205233
