St Helen's will be open daily again from 9am -5 pm from 17th March. We are pleased that roof repairs are now complete and scaffolding has come down today. There is a little masonry work still to do, which shouldn't take long. The wet weather has delayed everything but at last the south windows are visible again making a much brighter church. All are welcome to visit and view this historic church with so many unique features. See some recent video tours of the church at www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSVgPx8Ty6Y&t=37s Church Searcher www.youtube.com/watch?v=0drQpmOJ-pA Another interesting video is by Roger Lang of Durham University describing the Ragnarok Stone. https://vimeo.com/rwlang/skipwith

We are renewing our south aisle roof which is 150 years old, approximately, and leaks regularly. At the same time we are carrying out adjacent masonry repairs and re-fashioning the rainwater outlets from the roof to improve drainage.

National Churches' Trust's Explore Churches website will give you a taste of what to look for at St. Helen's when you visit. A truly historic church !
