Church of England Diocese of York Saint Nicholas, Wigginton

About Us

St.Nicholas' Church is the Church of England Parish Church of Wigginton. It is part of the United Benefice of Haxby and Wigginton.

There has been a Church in Wigginton since before the Norman Conquest, although the present building is Victorian. It a small and intimate church seating around 100, so we are frequently fairly full.
The 9.30 am Service has a regular congregation of around 40 and is a mix of ages.

A Sunday School called Bright Sparks runs alongside this service. Visiting children always welcome. A very friendly congregation.

The 11.15 Service has a small (about 12) mainly elderly members who prefer a quiet said service and a good sermon.
We have strong links with young families in the area and hold a number of events for them during the year.

On Tuesday during term time there is a Tots and Toddlers service at 10.00am

Every Thursday there is a said communion service at 10.30 am
