Getting here

All Saints Church is located on the north of the valley .High up and very visible  Its 15th Century lantern tower is unique in the East Riding in that it is octagonal from foot to top. The tower boasts an attractive stained glass window that has been recently restored. We have three bells (two circa 1600 ) which are tolled by electronic clangers .  They also ring the time between 8am and 8pm .

The nave and chancel of the church were rebuilt in the EE style in 1869-71 by JB&W Atkinson. The chancel retains a Saxon priest's doorway. Chevron voussoirs and cushion capitals reset in the west wall survive from an earlier 12th Century church. Marmaduke Lord Langdale (died 1661), a royalist cavalry commander , is buried underneath an inscribed floor slab near the altar. The 15th Century octagonal font is decorated with shields and large square fleurons.

The church contains a rare hand-pumped Kirkland  organ played by organist John Bralant.

We have a prayer corner with a tack log (as per Southern French Churches) , as a prompt , rather than candles

The atmosphere in the church is very welcoming and homely. It is always warm !  In addition to Holy Communion service on first Sunday of the month (9.00am),we have All Age Worship on the third Sunday(4.00pm) which have a variety of themes and  there are well attended Easter, Harvest and Carol services.

We have no vicar at the moment but an appointment is imminent

We have a formal Churches together agreement with our Sancton Methodist Chapel which is very historic as the home of the Jacksons'
