About Us

Our church is right in the heart of the village and is integral to village life, and has been from mediaeval times (late 12th century) when it was a Chapel. The older structure was restored in local brick in the latter half of the 18th century and one can see the the later influence of the Georgians and then the Victorians, when the box pews were removed and recycled as the dark wood panelling and pulpit. The font is Norman, the bell in the tower was cast in 1650, and the Altar Rail is Jacobean. The churchyard is extensive and provides a peaceful setting for thought and meditation.  Do come and spend some time with us, as others have done over the centuries.
