Stations of the Cross across the Benefice

During Holy Week, the Stations of the Cross are available in each of our four churches - All Hallows, Walkington; All Saints, Bishop Burton; St Peter’s, Rowley; and St Michael’s, Skidby.

While the churches are open during the daytime, you are warmly invited to come in, at a time that suits you, to pause and walk this prayerful journey. The Stations trace the path that Jesus took as he went towards the cross, offering space to reflect on his suffering, his love, and the cost of our salvation.

Taking time in the quiet of the church allows us to step aside from the pace and demands of daily life. The stillness of these sacred spaces helps us to slow down, to pray, and to draw closer to the heart of the story at the centre of our faith.

Whether you stay for a few minutes or longer, you are welcome to come, to reflect, and to place your own prayers and burdens before God as you walk the way of the cross.

All Saints

"The parish of Bishop Burton: All Saints is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of York’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
