There was a largely positive response with volunteers coming forward to offer financial, fundraising or practical help for St Mary's at a meeting to discuss its future.About 50 people attended the event in Wansford Vilage Hall, which was chaired by the Archdeacon of the East Riding, the Rev Andy Broom.A subsequent letter to villagers from Mr Broom is attached.
The insurance claim for the repair of the St Mary's lych gate and noticebaord, which were damaged when the bough of a beech tree blew down during Storm Lilian on August 23 2024 has now been settled. Local builder Patrick Turner, of P L Turner, of North Frodingham did the work, supported by carpenter Richard Flack, of Nafferton Traditional Interiors.
