Advent Procession and Carol Service

Join us as we begin Advent with a Candlelit procession around Hull Minster accompanied by the Hull Minster Choir.

Advent is a season of expectation and preparation, as the Church prepares to celebrate the coming (adventus) of Christ in his incarnation, and also looks ahead to his final advent as judge at the end of time. The readings and liturgies not only direct us towards Christ's birth, they also challenge the modern reluctance to confront the theme of divine judgement.

Hull Minster

A warm welcome from all of us at Hull Minster. We are a Christian community worshipping in the centre of Hull and stewards of an amazing building. We have a variety of services running throughout the week alongside many seasonal services. We are also pleased to host a variety of local and national music, arts and events along with our cafe and shop.

We are part of the Diocese of York, the Church of England from the Humber to the Tees and from the Yorkshire coast to the A1, led by the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, and in the care of the Bishop of Hull, Eleanor Sanderson.

Safeguarding

Hull Minster is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of York’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Mrs Rebecca Barques or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services
