The Church is open daily throughout the year for private prayer and visitors during daylight hours.
Getting hereWelcome to St Peter's Church, Hackness that has been a place of worship for over 1300 years, but with an association with St Hilda who made the original foundation in 680 AD. This building has examples of carvings and architecture from the Anglo-Saxon period, through Norman and Gothic, with Stuart and Tudor monuments plus Victorian and later stained glass. The latest addition, in 2004. was the opening up of an area of the North Aisle to create a teaching and display area. Our small but loyal congregation, with growing Sunday School, extends a warm welcome to tourists and visitors alike and prays that you may be blessed by the God to whose glory this Church was built so long ago and maintained today.
