A Walk of Witness is a public act of Christian faith in which people move together through a town or community, usually in silence or prayer, to reflect on the events of Good Friday and the journey of Jesus to the cross. It’s often organised by several local churches working together, and it serves as a visible expression of unity, remembrance, and hope.

The Benefice of Hadleigh, Layham and Shelley will begin their Walk of Witness at Morrisons in Hadleigh at 10.00am, everyone is welcome and the occasion will be followed with hot drinks and hot cross buns.

Hadleigh, St Mary

Hadleigh is privileged to have a rich history, which has helped to develop Christian worship not only in this area but in the Anglican Church world-wide. Our worship and mission is shaped by this rich and varied tradition, and we are passionate about being a church to which everyone can belong and in which everyone is welcome.

The parish of Hadleigh: St Mary is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of St. Edmundsbury & Ipswich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

The church is currently open for private prayer and visitors between 9am and 4pm each day.
