A Meditation on the Seven Last Words by Kenneth Wilson in Grosmont

Occurring
for 2 hours
Venue
St Matthew's Grosmont
Address
Front street Grosmont Whitby, YO22 5QE, United Kingdom

St Matthew’s Church, Grosmont is delighted to welcome Kenneth Wilson for A Meditation on the Seven Last Words on the eve of Palm Sunday.

Kenneth is a cellist, writer and pilgrim whose remarkable 1,900-mile bicycle journey around England’s 42 cathedrals lies behind this distinctive event. Travelling with his cello by bike, he performed this meditation in cathedrals across the country, and now brings together that music with the story of the journey itself in an evening of reflection, storytelling and live performance.

This is not simply a concert, but a thoughtful and moving way into Holy Week. Through music and spoken reflection, Kenneth invites listeners to dwell on the Seven Last Words of Jesus with quietness, depth and imagination. It promises to be a rich and prayerful occasion, shaped by pilgrimage, faith and the power of live cello music in a beautiful church setting.

The event has also been timed with local public transport in mind, to make it easier for people to come from Whitby and along the Esk Valley line. We based the timing around the 16.20 train from Whitby to Grosmont, with a return train to Whitby at 19.15.

**Tickets: £12**
Available on the door or by contacting the secretary on **01947 895309**.

Anyone planning to travel by rail is encouraged to check current train times before setting out.
