Church of England Diocese of York Hinderwell with Roxby and Staithes

St Hilda's

Welcome to our church page!  St Hilda's is a small church in the village of Hinderwell, and has a very friendly community.  We are part of a Benefice of six churches, led by our Rector, the Rev. Capt. Malcolm Jackson, who is assisted by our retired priest, Rev. Josephine Evetts-Secker, and our Reader/Lay Minister, Dr Gill Boag-Munroe.  We also have a Recognised Parish Assistant in Sandsend: Helen Lloyd.  Between us, we hold three services weekly within the Benefice churches: usually there are two Eucharist services and a Morning Praise.  We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you to any of our services.

We also have our Coffee and Quack sessions at 1030 each Wednesday morning, which alternate between Hinderwell and Sandsend: again, we love to welcome new people.

The parish of Hinderwell w Roxby & Staithes is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO), who is currently Gill Boag-Munroe.  She can be contacted on 01287 773056.

The Diocese of York’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
