St Andrew’s has been fortunate in receiving a significant legacy and is using it to enhance the value of the Church to the community, to have the Church accessible from the lych gate, to keep it open during the week and to provide a toilet and a basic kitchen. In Phase One the church path was repaired and space created inside at the back by removal of five pews, thanks to grants from National Lottery, Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust, RE Chadwick trust and the Church of England disability Project. In Phase Two we installed kitchenette, toilet and storage facilities. Here we have received grants from Benefact Trust, the Garfield Weston foundation and the National Churches Trust. We have yet to be connected to a water supply, and do not yet have drainage connected either. But it is coming!
