An update from Revd SueCoronavirus Precautions have now been relaxed by the Government but we all understand that each person will have a different set of criteria by which they will judge what feels right and safe for them. We at St Andrew’s constantly reflect on and assess both the regulations and our own local situation. We would encourage people continue to wear face coverings in church when moving about: arriving at church, leaving church. We hope to continue to sing congregational hymns (with masks on) in the 10am service. We would also encourage social distancing, both inside and out, at the present time.Sharing the Common Cup at the EucharistWhilst having the communion in One Kind, as we have been having it, is valid and meaningful, and it is all part of mystery of the eucharist. In it is our life ‘hidden with Christ in God’. In it is the life of Jesus: His earthly life, His death and His risen life. We embrace and share His earthly life with its hard times as well as its joys as He embraces and shares ours. We share in the salvation gained by His death. We are already joined to, and share in, His risen life and will do for all eternity. It is now permitted for us to once again share in the one common cup but, we understand that many will continue to take communion in One Kind.
