About Us

St Anne’s is home to a friendly and growing congregation in Hoxton.

We are a very diverse group, reflecting the local community; people of all ages and backgrounds and abilities. Some of us were born in Hoxton, others have moved here from many different places in the world; between 5 and 10 languages are spoken by members of the congregation. We are very different but we are united in our desire to worship God and to follow in the way of Jesus Christ. We aim to be a church where all feel welcome and all have a sense of home-coming, so that, united in the worship of God, we may grow in faith and friendship. Our Sunday morning service of the Mass is our main focus. We are increasingly developing other activities and opportunities to meet at other times. We run several community outreach strands:

A weekly soup kitchen for homeless and vulnerable people, from 5pm-7pm every Saturday of the year. STAYG: A community youth club for all young people aged 8-16, from 5.30pm-7.30pm every Friday in school term. A Winter Night Shelter from January-April each year on Monday evenings (run in conjunction with Hackney Winter Night Shelter) A weekly community drop-in cafe. Free food and sandwiches, croissants and tea/coffee. Wednesdays 10am-12noon We run a young adults' bible study every Tuesday from 6.30-7.30pm Bible, Faith & Life: midweek group meets in blocks of 4-6 weeks throughout the year. Usually Wednesdays from 7.30pm A Sunday School/Messy Church runs every Sunday in conjunction with the Parish Mass, in the Parish Hall. All children from 5-16 are welcome.
