About Us

St James in the City is a new Anglican church developing a fresh model of church in response to a modern city culture.

We began in January 2009, and now gather every Sunday at 10:30am and 4pm at our church on Parliament Street.

We have five core values:

Love: Our central focus is meeting together to worship and glorify God. It’s what energises us to live for him.

Live: We seek to build strong, supportive networks; providing friendship, family and a home to people from many backgrounds and nations.

Grow: We want to know more about Jesus, to live and become more like Him.

Serve: We're working to make a real difference in Liverpool and beyond, especially for those in need.

Build: Our vision is to see God's kingdom built locally, nationally and globally so that people come to know Jesus. Our aim: to train, equip, send and resource.

We’re structured around a network of Connect Groups — small communities of people with a shared focus and a heart to grow in faith and friendship together. We also run courses to support people through different stages of life and faith, and offer resources to help us grow both spiritually and practically.

The best way to discover who we are and what we’re all about is to join us at one of our Sunday services, worship God with us, and meet the church family.
