Bishop Grosseteste University is a Church University in the Anglican tradition and a member of the Cathedrals Group and CUAC (the Colleges and Universities of the Anglican Communion). We have a long history of teacher training - for most of our history we were a college for women training as teachers. We have diversified into a range of other disciplines as well as education - mostly in theology and the liberal arts.

Morning Prayer is said daily in Chapel during the week (Mon-Fri) at 8.30am except Thursdays when it is said at 8am.

Evening Prayer is said daily in Chapel at 4.30pm (Mon-Fri).

The Eucharist is celebrated on Tuesdays in Chapel at 1pm and Thursdays at 8.30am.

Variations in our regular pattern of worship are regularly published on our Facebook page and Twitter feed.

The Chaplaincy runs a series of events (discussion groups, entertainments, and social events) many of which are open to members of the public. It also helps to support the University's Theology, Religion, and Spirituality Research Group. We are on very cordial terms with our local Parish Church - St. Nicholas, Newport - and we urge visitors to participate in its life as well as our own.

The Chapel is now dedicated to St. Francis and St. Clare given that Robert Grosseteste was a great supporter of the Franciscan movement.
