Messy Church at St John’s

Messy Church is a fun, welcoming and creative way for children, families and people of all ages to explore the Christian faith together.

Held on the first Wednesday of every month at St John’s Church, each session follows a different Bible story or theme through a variety of hands-on activities, creative crafts, games, storytelling and a short time of worship. It’s a relaxed and informal way to discover God’s love while enjoying time together as a community.

Every activity is completely free, including all craft materials, and we finish each session by sharing a delicious meal together around the table.

Messy Church is especially aimed at children, young people and their families, but everyone is welcome. Whether you’re a regular churchgoer, new to faith, or simply looking for a fun and friendly activity, you’ll receive a warm welcome.

Come along, get a little messy, make new friends, explore the Bible, and enjoy great food together—we’d love to see you!

St John’s Church

A magnificent Victorian landmark, St John’s Church has stood proudly over Felixstowe since 1895. Sitting on the highest point in the town, its iconic spire can be seen for miles around and shines brightly each evening, while its beautiful bells call people to worship every Sunday morning.

St Edmund’s Chapel

Our sister church, St Edmund’s Chapel, is a thriving mission space at the centre of our community.

It is home to our Parish Pantry, hosts our Thursday Holy Communion at 10:30am, and offers a variety of services, groups and activities throughout the week. Whatever brings you through our doors, you’ll be greeted with friendship, kindness and hospitality.

Music, Concerts & Community

St John’s is renowned for its stunning architecture and exceptional acoustics, making it one of Felixstowe’s finest venues for music.

From choirs and orchestras to soloists and community performances, we love seeing our beautiful church filled with music.

Our church is available to hire for concerts, rehearsals, recitals and other suitable events, offering a truly memorable setting for performers and audiences alike.
