St Mary at the Elms

St Mary at the Elms serves a lively congregation and provides daily a place for contemplation, prayer and worship for anyone visiting or working in the area. All are welcome.

Our Anglo-Catholic tradition values the sacramental life of the church. A significant emphasis on liturgy and worship – performed in order to maintain the beauty of holiness – makes worship in an Anglo-Catholic church an experience which is intended to appeal to one’s whole person – to heart as well as head, to senses as well as intellect. The Shrine of Our Lady of Grace stands within our church.

St Mary at the Elms is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs, whose contact details may be found on our website. The Diocese of St.Edmundsbury & Ipswich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
