KESGRAVE SCARECROW TRAIL
& SCARECROW CAFÉ
I’m sure all of you will have heard about the Kesgrave Scarecrow Trail (starting on 28 September and finishing on 11 October) supported by Kesgrave Town Council, and the Fancy Dress (optional) Scarecrow Café on Saturday 4th October, 10 am – 1 pm. We just thought it would be helpful to summarise it all again, as we are getting rather excited about the wonderful interest already shown in making and displaying scarecrows for the trail. It would be lovely if this trail was even bigger for us all to see and enjoy!
Our lovely Carolyn spoke on Suffolk Sounds recently, and she was amazing in advertising this brilliant event to help fundraise for our church. As you know, maintaining a beautiful historic building like ours is very costly — so every bit of support makes a real difference.
The map of Kesgrave Scarecrows is already growing, and we would love even more people to get involved! The map will be released on the All Saints Church Kesgrave Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Askesgrave ) on 28th September, and we will also try to print some copies for the church as well..
Scarecrow Café – Saturday 4th October, 10 am – 1 pm
This special café will have a Fancy Dress theme (optional, of course), but perhaps children — or grown-ups — would like to brighten the event even more by coming in a costume. It could be scarecrow-themed, or simply something fun and cheerful!

🐾 Pet Blessing 🐾
Bring your pets for a blessing from Revd Canon Andrew Dotchin — and yes, there will be special treats for the pets too!
We can’t, of course, do anything without our brilliant volunteers who rescue us for every event! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to those already on the list of helpers for the day. If you are able to help, please get in touch with Carolyn or any of our Ministry Team.
A special thanks also goes to KPCH (Kesgrave Parish Church Trust) for kindly supporting our expenses.
We are also collecting tombola prizes:
- Chocolate Tombola – for the church
- General Tombola – for the Kesgrave & Woodbridge Ukraine Hub
If you are able to donate, please bring items to the church. There will be a box under the notices table, or you can hand them directly to a member of the Ministry Team.
For the café itself, we’d love some baking contributions if you’re able — but we completely understand how busy life is, so shop-bought cakes and treats are also very welcome and appreciated!
We are really hoping this will be an amazing event that brings the whole Kesgrave community together. There will be children’s activities, yummy cakes, handmade crafts and paintings, stalls, so please come along — and share the event with your family and friends!
Let’s also hope for lovely weather (please 🙏) as children, grown-ups, and their brave teddies wait in anticipation for the big Teddy Zip Wire from the church tower. Every teddy will have a health check before the flight, and if you are feeling extra adventurous, you can even make a parachute for your teddy to glide down from the tower.
We can’t wait to see you all at this wonderful community event!
