About Us

St Andrew's stands near the centre of the village near Finborough Hall. This is at least the third church to have stood on this site.

Not many churches escaped unchanged in Victorian times. Some had only minor modifications but what started out as necessary repairs to St Andrew's gradually became a total rebuilding by the architect R. M. Phipson. Only the south porch was retained, and even that did not escape unscathed.

There is some car parking available in the road in front of the church. St Andrew's has six bells, tenor weight 12 cwt.

Families are always welcome to all of the services, but those more suited to their needs have been specially highlighted.  We also run Messy Church on the first Friday of each month at 3.30pm in church.  Please join us for our monthly coffee mornings in church on the second Tuesday of each month between 10.00 and 11.45am

The building is the focus of our church community which gathers week by week to engage with God’s Mission of love to the world.  Will you join us on our journey and perhaps make it yours?

We give shape to our work by following the 'Five Marks of Mission' adopted by the Anglican Church worldwide, and seek to show them both in our communal and individual lives. They are to:

proclaim the good news of the Kingdom teach, baptize and nurture new believers respond to human need by loving service seek to transform unjust structures of society, challenging violence, injustice and oppression and working for peace and reconciliation strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustaining and renewing the life of the earth

We have strong links with Gt Finborough Church School catering for children from 4 to 11 from this parish. We welcome enquiries for Weddings and Baptisms which should be made to the Vicar.

You will be most welcome to join us in our worship or at any of our events detailed in the Finborough newsletter or by contacting the Vicar or Churchwarden who will be happy to help.

We are in a benefice with Onehouse, Buxhall, Harleston and Shelland and linked with the churches at Combs and Little Finborough, who you will find have a similar focus for their work.
