Other Features

We are delighted that All Saint's Church in Hundon is an official Church where a pilgrim can rest, pray, and obtain a pilgrim stamp on the newly revived London to Walsingham Camino.

A newly-established, 180-mile pilgrim walking route that revives the medieval path from the capital to England’s greatest holy shrine. The London to Walsingham Camino follows footpaths and quiet country lanes, running from St Magnus the Martyr Church alongside London Bridge, out of the city along the Lea Valley and on through Essex, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk. The route is divided into 13 stages, averaging 14 miles per day, with a further option to walk an average of seven miles a day. The route has been given official recognition by the Confraternity of St James, under powers deputed by the cathedral authorities in Santiago. This means that any pilgrim who walks at least 25km of it – and collects pilgrim stamps from some of the 20 churches along the path that have them – will be able to use that 25km towards the total of 100km that must be walked to receive their Compostela when they reach Santiago.

More information can be found on the Confraternity of St James Website: https://www.csj.org.uk/

(The Church is Open Daily from 10am until 4pm - The Pilgrim Stamp can be found on the small table as you enter, along with the visitors book - please do sign the book so that we can pray for you)
