St John the Baptist church has been standing at the centre of Metfield village for over 600 years. The Grade 1 listed building is light and bright containing a working medieval clock and a fine canopy.
Visitors are always welcome, either to join us on a Sunday or visit during the week when the church is kept open all day.
We hold 2 minister led services each month; a village service on the second Sunday and Holy Communion on the fourth. The first Sunday of the month we have an informal gathering where we share topical prose and poetry, sing one or two hymns and end with prayer. All three occasions end with refreshments and an opportunity to chat.
Our dedicated team of bell ringers practise on Tuesday evenings and ring before services. We frequently welcome ringers from elsewhere.
Metfield Village Hall is opposite the church; we support each other as we do with the community run shop. The church contains a food bank available for those in need.
