St Mary Magdalene, Withersdale

OUR BENEFICE IS IN VACANCY AND WE ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW RECTOR.
FOR DETAILS, VISIT https://www.cofesuffolk.org/about-us/vacancies/rector-sancroft-benefice.php

The congregation of this beautiful small church in the Waveney Valley is drawn from the six parishes that make up the Sancroft Benefice. Services are taken from the Book of Common Prayer published orginally by William Sancroft, later Archbishop of Canterbury and a benefactor of this church.

There is a service of Holy Communion on the second Sunday of the month at 9am, Festival services at Christmas, Easter and Harvest Thanksgiving and Choral Evensong from time to time.

This Grade 1 listed building is included in Simon Jenkin's book '1000 Best English Churches'. It is a small church with a big history. It continues to provide a place for quiet reflection.

A newly published illustrated Guide is available in the church. It helps to support the maintenance of the church fabric.

When visiting please park in the layby below the church.

Safeguarding

"Our parish of Withersdale is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of St. Edmundsbury & Ipswich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Karen Galloway 07785 621319. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
