Cornet solos for a summer afternoon - Sunday 18 July 3pm

Not to be missed! The second in our summer series of free concerts will be on Sunday 18 July at 3pm - 'the cornet as you've never heard it' . Aaron Thomas and his brother William will play solos and duets to make this a Sunday afternoon to remember.

Aaron, who like his brother grew up in Troon, near Camborne, was a member of the National Youth Brass Band until starting his studies at Exeter University. His exquisite cornet solos have brought audiences to their feet across Cornwall and beyond. He has been a member of Camborne Youth Band for many years and was a 2019 regional finalist in the Rotary Club Young Musician of the Year competition.

Aaron and William will play a selection of pieces that showcase the range of the cornet, an instrument core to the brass band tradition. Cornwall's brass bands are amongst the best in the country.

William Thomas is also a fine cornet player who is a long-standing member of Camborne Youth Band. William is starting his studies at Plymouth University this autumn.
