Lent Groups are being held in the Meneage Benefice in March. These are open to everyone—whether you are a regular churchgoer, or someone with an interest in spiritual issues—and each one will end with a simple communal lunch. They will meet across the Benefice on four Wednesday mornings during Lent. The purpose is to offer support to each other, exploring and deepening our faith in the period leading up to Holy Week. The series will begin with a Holy Communion Service on Ash Wednesday, 2 March, at Manaccan Church at 11.15am, during which we will reflect on ‘What it means to be part of a Christian community’. The four Groups will follow, each one focusing on a specific ‘Cornerstone of Faith’: v ‘Baptism’, 9 March, 11.00am at St Anthony Church; v ‘The Bible’, 16 March, 11.00am at St Martin Parish Hall; v ‘The Lord’s Supper’, 23 March, 11.00am at St Martin Parish Hall; v ‘Prayer’, 30 March, 11.00am at St Mawgan Church. The series will conclude with a special Holy Communion Service at St Martin Church on 6 April at 11.am, where we will reflect on ‘Looking towards Holy Week’. The two services will be led by the Revd Mike North, and the Lent Groups will be led by Bob & Patti Owens, Readers (Licensed Lay Ministers) in the Benefice. If you would like to take part in these Groups, there is no charge, but Bob and Patti do need to know you are coming so that all necessary arrangements can be made. Please email or phone them (no Facebook messages) , giving your name, telephone number, and email address (if you have one). You'll be sent a leaflet giving further information.
