The financial situation at CIRDIC ( Churches in Reading Drop In Centre) is becoming increasingly difficult, and this year the PCC has agreed that the special Lent Collection, held at both St John’s and Christ the King churches, should go to this very worthwhile charity, which we have been supporting with food, clothing, toiletries and other items for some time. Our Lent Collection carries on throughout the whole period of Lent, which runs from 14 February to 28 March. It is in addition to the normal plate collection, taken during the service, and takes the form of a special collection box in each church specifically for the charity. These boxes will be available every Sunday during Lent. *For those who would prefer to donate by cheque, please make it payable to CIRDIC.The “ Just Giving “ link for making a donation to CIRDIC is http://www.justgiving.com/cirdic*A big thank you to all who donated to the Lent church collections. Over £1,000 was receivedLinda Martin and Peter Blake.…………………………………………………………………………………………………….
