St George's is the Anglican Parish Church of Wash Common and is here to serve all who live in the parish of Wash Common and all who visit or pass through the area.
You are very welcome at St George's, whether you are a regular churchgoer, or go to church occasionally, or whether going to church is completely new for you - we would be delighted to see you.
UPDATE - during the period of mourning following the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II, St George's is open from 8.30am - 6.00 pm if you would like to come and say a prayer, light a candle, sign the book of condolence, or spend some time in quiet contemplation.
Newbury: St George is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
