About Us

South Raynham, or Raynham St Martin, church is a small medieval building dating from the 13th century. It was restored in 1844. The original altar stone is still in use and was replaced in the 20th cent. There is a fine east window to Mrs Ridsdale, the wife of a former vicar. Roger Townshend who died in 1415 is buried here, but there is no memorial.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CHURCH IS CLOSED FOR MAJOR REPAIRS. IT SHOULD BE OPEN AGAIN AT THE END OF JUNE 2019.

We are particularly gratrful to the Heritage Lottery Fund for their generous support.
