These are Lent & Easter events this year.
A service of holy communion with ashing (marking the sign of the cross with ashes on the forehead), to mark the beginning of the season of Lent.
This year our lent course is called 'Knowing Jesus' and uses materials created by Bishop Philip, Bishop of Blackburn. All are welcome, whatever stage of faith, as we explore key moments in the book of Acts together during this holy season.
Our 3 churches will gather at St Ambrose for our united benefice communion service with the blessing of the palm crosses, marking the start of Holy Week. All are welcome!
A somber service of holy communion with the stripping of the altar. Once the service has finished you are very welcome to stay behind to pray in quiet, or to leave in silence.
Join us for a family friendly service with songs and prayers, where we hear the story of Good Friday and prepare to celebrate Easter. There will be a short service in church, followed by the making of Easter gardens outside (or inside if it's raining!).
A somber, reflective service which takes us to the cross, marking the final hour before Jesus died. After the service has finished, all are welcome to stay behind in church to pray, or to leave in silence.
